Dr. Søren Schauser teaches the Global Conservatoire course

Nordic Noir

 

Dr. Søren Schauser researches widely in cultural and historical ideas. He has had a career as a viola player in various symphony orchestras and the European Union Baroque Orchestra. He received a diploma in music history and music theory and a PhD degree in philosophy from the University of Southern Denmark.

Schauser has written numerous articles for the “New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians 2nd Edition” as well as the books “Classical!” from 2015, “Tone’s dream” from 2016, “Modern times” from 2018 and most recently the essay collection “Piano dreams” in collaboration with Professor Niklas Sivelöv. He is also active as a writer in Berlingske Media and as a lecturer and cultural communicator in general.
